CSCA ANNUAL COMPETITION
2.1 GENERAL
An annual competition shall be held between the CSCA Member Clubs and shall comprise an agreed number of automotive competition events. The events shall be limited to those events requiring a motor sport competition licence not higher than a Motorsport Australia Speed Licence, or Junior Speed Licence or equivalent.
The intent is to encourage the use of any CSCA Marque cars in competition events by any affiliated CSCA Club members, as well as providing a cost-effective opportunity for members to compete in motorsport, The following shall be decided on an annual basis.
a) The CSCA Champion Club.
b) The individual winners of each CSCA Class, and 2nd and 3rd places for each Class (where
applicable).
c) The Champion Male Driver, or Joint Male Champions.
d) The Champion Female Driver or Joint Female Champions.
CSCA Champion Club (open to all fully financial CSCA Member Clubs)
The winning CSCA Club shall be the Club whose members collectively accumulate the highest number of points during the competition year from both their Marque and Non-Marque cars. The winning CSCA Club will be entitled to have its name engraved on the Perpetual Champion Club Trophy for that year.
Individual Champions
Trophies will be awarded to the Class winners, and 2nd and 3rd place getters of each CSCA Class where applicable. In addition, the Champion Drivers (male and female) will be the drivers who win the highest total number of points across all Classes.
Note: Perpetual trophies for the Champion Club and Champion Drivers shall be held by these winners during the following season. It is up to the winning Club(s) and Champion Drivers to ensure that perpetual trophies are returned prior to the final CSCA event of the following year for reissue to subsequent Champions.
Non-CSCA Members
Non-CSCA Member entries can be accepted to compete in a CSCA event (subject to the host CSCA Club’s approval), but such entries will not accrue points toward any CSCA Annual competition.
2.1.1 CSCA ANNUAL COMPETITION POINTS SCORE
Points will be awarded to CSCA Member Club competitors in both Marque and Non-Marque cars in each CSCA competition Class as follows:
1st = 10 points
2nd = 8 points
3rd = 6 points
4th = 4 points
5th = 3 points
6th = 2 points
• All other CSCA competitors will be awarded one point (providing they pass scrutineering and at least complete one timed lap).
• An additional two bonus points will be awarded to all CSCA Club Members driving approved CSCA
Marque Cars – see below for a description of approved Marque cars.
2.1.2 APPROVED CSCA MARQUE CARS
Approved cars are also referred to as “CSCA Marque Cars” as they represent the marques of CSCA Member Clubs as follows:
Austin Healey: Any cars manufactured by Donald Healey Motor Co. or the Austin Motor Co. bearing an AH insignia (excluding Sprites).
MG: Any cars bearing the name MG or an MG Special with an MG engine.
Triumph: Any cars manufactured by Triumph bearing a factory or commission plate.
Sprite: Any cars bearing an Austin Healey Sprite identification plate, including those cars with the same floor plan as Austin Healey Sprite.
Lotus: Any cars bearing a Lotus factory plate or manufactured by Colin Chapman as well as Mk1 and Mk2 Lotus Cortinas, Twin Cam Escort, Caterham Seven and Steel Bros. Seven.
Jaguar: All cars with Jaguar engines including the Mk2 type Daimler.
MX-5: Any car bearing the name MX-5, Miata or Eunos Roadster as well as the Fiat Abarth 124 Spider.
ELIGIBILITY NOTES:
a) To be awarded any points in an event a competitor must pass scrutineering and complete at least one timed lap in that event.
b) Non-Marque drivers will not accrue points towards the Champion Driver, they will however accrue points in the CSCA Class competitions.
c) To qualify as either 1st, 2nd or 3rd in a Class, competitors must have competed in at least three events in that same Class during the calendar year.
d) To be declared the Class winner there must have been at least three qualifying cars competing in that Class during the year. Similarly, to be declared 2nd or 3rd in Class there must have been respectively at least four or five qualifying competitors competing in that Class during the year.
e) The Champion Drivers (male and female) will be the qualifying driver that scored the highest total number of points in any single Class in the year. The Champion Drivers must have competed in at least 3 events in the year and competed against at least 3 qualifying drivers in that same Class during the year.
Note: Individual event trophies will not be awarded for each or any event.
Tiebreaker
In the event of a tie for a Class or Champion trophy, a tiebreaker will be declared based on a countback of the number of highest positions in their Class. In the event of still no decision, two trophies will be awarded in a split result.
Discretionary Trophies
At the discretion of a quorum of the CSCA Committee by simple majority, trophies or other acknowledgments may be made to any drivers or officials (such as Champion Non-Marque Driver, junior acknowledgement, longterm entrant, long serving official, exceptional volunteer etc.).
2.1.3 Class Eligibility
Competing vehicles must satisfy the competition CSCA Class requirements, as agreed by a quorum Club Delegates. All such vehicles must also comply with Motorsport Australia Schedules A & B (or equivalent).
